Dynaimix AI leads an Intro to AI session for SLCC staff at the Omni Hotel at the Battery Atlanta.
On July 21 and 22, 2026, the Southeastern Line Constructors Chapter gathered at the Omni Hotel at the Battery Atlanta for an introductory AI training session led by Dynaimix AI trainer Dan Callahan.
The Southeastern Line Constructors Chapter has served the outside electrical construction industry across eleven states and two territories since its founding in 1955. With a service area spanning from Florida to Arkansas and a membership base rooted in distribution, transmission, substation, and underground construction, the Chapter brings together a workforce that understands complex, high-stakes field work. The staff that came to this training reflected that background.
The session focused primarily on ChatGPT, covering the platform’s current capabilities and how they apply to real productivity challenges in a chapter office environment. Dan walked attendees through several of the features that tend to generate the most immediate interest in this kind of setting, including custom instructions, Projects, and Custom GPTs.
Two things stood out most to participants. The first was the flexibility of custom instructions, specifically the ability to set them not just at the account level but on a project-by-project basis. For a chapter office managing multiple functions across a large geographic footprint, that kind of contextual customization resonated. The second was Custom GPTs and the possibilities they open up for building focused tools tailored to specific workflows.
The session also introduced ChatGPT Work, OpenAI’s newest agentic feature that allows users to connect the platform to external tools and automate multi-step workflows. It generated real interest in the room, with attendees already thinking through how it might apply to their own processes. Given the volume of information covered across two days, the group left with ChatGPT Work as something to explore further as everything else settles in.
The ideas that surfaced during training are exactly the kind of signal that makes these sessions valuable. When a room full of people with deep operational knowledge starts connecting AI capabilities to their actual work, the possibilities get concrete fast.
